How to Insert a Proxmox Subscription Key

Step 1: Get Your Subscription Key

• After purchasing your subscription, the subscription key can be retrieve from your client area

  • Your subscription key

  • The Proxmox version it applies to (e.g., Proxmox VE)

  • The licensed server hostname

Step 2: Log in to the Proxmox Web Interface

1. Open your browser and go to your Proxmox web UI:

    

   https://your-proxmox-ip:8006

2. Log in as root (or another admin-level account).

Step 3: Go to the Subscription Page

1. In the left sidebar, click the node name (the name of your Proxmox server).

2. Go to the Subscription tab.

Step 4: Insert the Subscription Key

1. Click the “Enter Subscription Key” button.

2. Paste the subscription key exactly as it appears in the email (e.g., XXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX).

3. Click OK to save.

Step 5: Verify the Subscription

1. Click “Check” — this contacts the Proxmox subscription server and validates your key.

2. If successful, you’ll see:

   • Status: “Active”

   • Type: Your subscription level (Community, Basic, Standard, etc.)

   • Next due date
